deColourant SP for Screen Printing
|
deColourant® and deColourant® Plus are available in a formulation specifically designed for Commercial Screen Printers
All colors are available as deColourant®SP in 8oz, 1 gallon, 5 gallon, and larger quantities.
Why use deColourant SP? Unlike traditional screen printing inks, deColourant re-dyes the fabric in place.
It will not crack, peel, or fade. You get precise, fine line detail. You are actually permanently changing the color of the fabric where you apply the deColourant. It is a one-pass, non-messy process.
See below for more information, and contact us with your specific requirements.

Silk Screen Printing with deColourantSP |
|
Make sure your fabric is pressed smooth and has a layer of absorbent fabric underneath.
Evenly place enough deColourant creme across the top of the silk screen to trowel over the entire length of the screen.
|
|
Pull the deColourant creme across the silk screen with a squeegee at a 45o angle.
Use moderate hand pressure and pull firmly one time only for best results
|
|
Carefully remove the silk screen by lifting straight up. deColourant will not clog your screen when dried, but it should be cleaned while still damp.
|
|
|
Let the fabric dry completely before ironing. Use medium heat and hold the iron in place for 10 seconds. Adjust the length of time to vary your results.

Features of deColourant SP
deColourant for Screen Printing
- Very soft hand
- Reveals fabrics natural fibers
- No thick layer of ink on top of the fabric
- Removes color to fabrics natural color
- deColourant allows fine line detail - no smearing or spreading .
Competitor's discharge inks are known to cause a high amount of misprints. The total design may not go down or print perfectly because the printed design cannot be seen until the garment is heated and the discharge properties activated.
To our customers delight, deColourant goes on white so that your image can be seen, preventing incorrect overlaps and smearing from messy build up. When the print is dried and ready to be color removed, the dried design is lightened but still visible. No residue is left on the fabric after wash-out so the hand of the fabric remains soft.
deColourant Plus Titanium White for Screen Printing

- 1 Step Removal of color to fabrics natural color replaced with pure white color
Some fabrics and colors have more dramatic color clearing results than others. Most fabrics will release their color, but for some, the resulting color isn't as bright as one would like. Instead, a light to dark tan is achieved. Titanium White deColourant Plus was created for these situations. It brings the area where the color was removed back to white, with minimal change in the hand of the fabric. One layer of white pigmented deColournant can have the same visual effect as two layers of opaque white ink, but without the heavy hand or any of the difficulties in registration that can arise from having to print two layers.

Screen Printing Ideas using deColourant
- For dark fabrics, use deColourant as an underbase instead of laying down a layer of white ink. Your printed colors will be more vibrant, and the fabric will retain a softer hand
- Use Titanium White deColourant Plus to achieve a true white color while retaining the soft hand of the garment
- You can use a high mesh count with deColourant and deColourant Plus for precise fine line detail. Avoid halftones and tiny text.
